I used to work a few doors down from this place. One day I decided to try the food and I've been hooked since then. Now when I am in the area I never fail to stop by. The owner/waiter/chef is such a pleasant gentleman. I rate him a 10 out of 10 for customer service. My go-to dish is the Biryani. I find it spicy and would tear up eating but will keep coming back tearing up. The restaurant is not a sit down establishment. There is counter space which is shared amongst 3 restaurants so first come first sit down. Overall good experience and will be back when I am in the area.

We were visiting and came across this South Indian spot in a shared space with two other fast food choices (pizza and wok). This place is the real deal - authentic South Indian flavours at an affordable price. We had the idlis which were freshly steamed and served with tasty chutney and sambar. The masala dosa was excellent - perfectly crispy with a well spiced potato masala. Finally, the chicken biryani was marinated, fragrant and delicious. Highly recommend! Ps - seating wise, there’s a long table with high chairs, but because these are shared between the three restaurants, there may not always be availability (it is first come first serve). The takeout option worked best for us!

I went there a few days ago. I was craving South Indian food. I ordered chicken Masada dosa and idli with coconut chutney & sambar. It was my first time trying at Chennai Express. You have to wait at least 20 minutes because of the preparation. Everything is freshly prepared with love. The chef is very professional and polite. The kitchen looked clean but messy. The food was tasty spicy hot DELICIOUS. I couldn't even take a picture. I started eating I'm my car, lolll. Parking is a problem there. And the food is HALAL

As someone who’s spent a considerable amount of time in Chennai, I feel like I’m qualified to review this place. The masala dosa was probably the best I’ve had anywhere. Period. The sandbar and chutney were super authentic. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Located next to footlocker store. Ordered idly and masala dosa, take away, nicely packed. Not enough space or conducive environment for dine in. Food was nice, came with sambhar and coconut chutney..idly were soft. Hope to eat again if visiting Montreal again.
